Our safaris make use of only private camp sites throughout the wilderness areas and our dedicated crew, ensure a level of comfort and service to make your stay with us an unforgettable one. We cater to most special dietary requirements. Most of our expeditions are conducted using specially designed 4 x 4 vehicles to optimize your wildlife experience and your photography so that you return home with great memories and a better understanding of nature.
Your safari is your journey, an investment in a quest for knowledge and understanding of a sometimes forgotten world. Our time together entails the sharing of ideas, philosophies and our experience in one of Africa’s last great wilderness areas. Many people choose to return to Botswana with us. The wildlife behaviour and light scenarios are so dynamic that no two safaris are the same and even we as guides have new experiences daily.
Elephant Trails Safari Co. was established in 2007 by Guy Symons and Edurne Martinez who between them have over 30 years of experience in the safari industry, especially in Botswana.
Conducted over a period of approximately 8 days and comprise of a combination of our large , en suite "Meru" tents with some of the best lodges in Botswana.
Usually last for 10 nights with the first and last nights in hotel accommodation in Maun and Victoria Falls. The 8 nights in between are spent on safari in spacious "Dome" tents travelling through the national parks of Botswana , spending 2 or 3 nights at each camp site.
Led by professional photographers and usually spend 4 to 5 nights in one area . They are intense and educational but still fun and enjoyable . They are a great way for novices and advanced photographers to learn and share skills.
Our guides are fully committed to giving guests the finest possible wildlife experience and to this end we may spend more time out there than may be the norm with other operators. Our guides will inform you of the ecology, biology, geography and history of the area on game drives that are as much fun as they are educational.
Our open sided 4 x 4 vehicles are fully equipped to enhance your experience. We will always try and ensure that every passenger has a window seat to maximise viewing and photographic opportunities. This also allows more space for cameras, binoculars etc.
Luxury mobile camps are setup in prime areas, using secluded and private camp sites within National Parks, Private Concessions and Community Areas.
The tents used on these safaris are either luxury, walk-in "Meru" safari tents, furnished with 2 comfortable beds, linen, blankets, pillows, gown, towels, and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet or smaller "Bow" tents fitted with comfortable "camp" beds and bedrolls with sheets, duvets and pillows and en-suite shower and toilet.
Our meals are wholesome and plentiful and are prepared with fresh produce by our chef. We provide 3 wholesome, healthy meals per day. Coffee and tea stations are available in the dining tent at all time of the day. Tea box, Snacks and drinks are available on the game drive. Fresh bread is baked over the fire as the trip progresses.
Our professional and knowledgeable guides lead the safari. The task of the guide is to describe the ecology of the region and interpret the wilderness. Our guides go to great lengths to ensure that you get into the right position for photographic opportunities. Our guides and staff are all well trained and experienced and are more than willing to share their lives with you.
On the luxury safaris accommodation is in spacious mini-"meru" tents with en-suite shower and toilet facilities. There are proper beds in the tents as well lighting. All tents are mosquito proof.
Affordable accommodation is offered in comfortable "dome" or "cottage" tents. Camp beds with comfortable bedrolls with bed linen and pillow are provided. There is a lamp in the tent. Please note that shower and toilet facilities are not en-suite, but are shared.
